10 things that set Sunfall apart from every other music festival

Sunfall has you raving all day, night and into the early hours. Organised by the creators of Dimensions, Phonox, Outlook Festival, The Nest and XOYO - this is one of London’s best new festivals. And we hope it’s here to stay for many years to come.

Here are 10 reasons why we think it was so damn good:

1. Kamasi Washington’s cosmic jazz sounds were the perfect way to excite and ease the crowd into whatever long night of dancing that was ahead of them.

2. Good crowd, good atmosphere. There were smiles all round in this musical playground.

3. Fatima Yamaha playing 'What’s a Girl to Do’ within the shaded confines of a deep, dark tent.

4. Toilet humour - this festival can certainly be remembered for its long toilet queues but the friendliness and antics of the crowd made crossing your legs more bearable.

5. Benji B was still buzzing from his recent stint in the South of France, bringing some beach-side enthusiasm and summer tracks to the main stage. The perfect set to get you warmed up for Jamie XX.

6. No sound clashes between stages as music was cocooned in circus tents - making the bass heavy and the space laser friendly.

7. Food - this festival had an array of culinary delights from across the globe, making a change to your typical festival burger vans, with some independent breweries to accompany.

8. Jamie XX kills it every time. The perfect end to part one of the festival. Ending with 'Oh My Gosh', that song still sounds new even having been around for over a year.

9. Line up - this festival was curated to reflect London’s eclectic beat with a mixture of sounds from jazz, electro, techno, house, dance, and drum and bass.

10. All day and all night - instead of stumbling around to find an after party, you could go and join your choice of DJs at whatever venue you chose.

This festival had the feeling of one that had organically matured over the years into a fantastically curated event, despite it being the first year. Sunfall, you were a treat - we hope to see you again!
