The South rises...
Never trust a weather app was the first thought. On an expectedly cloudy and drab day, the sun reached out through the clouds, giving the crowd of variously styled vest wearers what they desired.
The move from East to South London had no effect on the House and Techno revellers that this festival attracts – after all, we all want to act silly and party during the day don’t we? (Well, maybe not some people, but apart from them – EVERYBODY DOES.)

The queues were long but steadily moving, with festival-goers busying themselves basking in the sunlight and sipping on their obligatory Red Stripe. After the vigorous search by the kind security gentleman you stepped closer towards the pounding bass reverberating around the grounds.
If you had the stamina for an 11am start and a 9pm finish, the reward was a superb house and techno line up which was hard to rival.
With the site allowing ease of access to each stage, it was hard not to shuffle magnetically from stage to stage. Anja Schneider and Ellen Allien created heavyweight energy on the main stage, whilst the likes of Tevo Howard and Kasra V gave the tent stages the fantastic illusion of a mellowed out 4am rave.
The standard of food was great, and there was never too long a wait at the bars. The woodland area in the centre provided a nice place to relax – just a stone’s throw away from the live acts.

George FitzGerald did what he does best, providing his multi-genre sound spanning from his beautifully textured tones to the big room fillers, ‘Full Circle’ being a sound and visual highlight. For those doubters of the album ‘Fading Love’, the performance would have left them appropriately corrected.
With Found Festival only being its third year, the fourth is only going to be undoubtedly better and we’re looking forward to it already.
If you just can’t shake that festival bug, the next installment of the Found Series is Found Presents: 51st State on 8th August, celebrating the roots of house music. Click here for more info.
