Taste of London brings the festive spirit
It may be late November, but you could have easily been fooled it was Christmas as you entered Taste of London. The festive spirit was in full swing as you were welcomed by a flurry of fake snow, surrounded by fairy lights and excited attendees wrapped up in their winter knitwear. After two years out of the festival calendar, it was more eagerly anticipated than ever. Taste of London, situated at the beautiful Tobacco Dock in East London, hosted some of the finest restaurants

Wonderful Waterworks
As summer came to an end, and Autumn began it certainly didn’t signify any stop to the party. Waterworks Festival had finally arrived for its inaugural event at Gunnersbury Park, West London. A festival primed with the best talent on the electronic music scene, we were super excited to see what this new festival had to offer. I’d previously been to a couple of festivals at Gunnersbury Park, which didn’t quite feel right as a venue so we were hoping to be proved wrong this tim

Magnificent Mosh
The whole train ride to Hatfield for Slam Dunk, it was half anxiety half excitement. As it was the first festival I’d been to in over two years, I barely felt ready for it at all. As we made our way across from the train station to the entrance, following the murmuring crowd and well placed signs, and anxiety faded away. The entrance was carefully split and kept Covid safe, as everyone’s vaccination or lateral flow result was checked, and once the wristband slid round my wris

Hospitality IS BACK
It’s back…Drum n Bass enthusiasts rejoice…Hospitality is back! Whenever festival season rolls round, everyone immediately looks out for THEIR festivals – those festivals that you go to pretty much every year and hold a special place in your heart and no doubt all Drum n Bass heads were looking out for this one with fingers crossed that no spanners were thrown in the works. Thankfully, no mechanical tools were in sight, just sparkling sunshine and booming basslines as Hospital

New location, same energy
Although an early start making our way from London to Bristol, the expectation and excitement on the train journey more than made up for it. It had been four years since we were at Love Saves The Day, previously located at Eastville Park, so the new location at Clifton Downs was a very intriguing proposition. As we arrived at Temple Meads, we still had a couple of hours to spare before doors opened, so decided to have ourselves a little tour of the city using the electric sco

No Carnival? the party must continue
August Bank holiday 2021 – sadly no Carnival for the second year running, however with a roster of performers likeArlo Parks, Little Simz, Tom Misch and Kano, All Points East was hardly a shabby replacement for my weekend! You know it’s festival time in Vicky Park from the moment you reach Mile End Station and see all of the stewards in full force and a procession of buzzing bodies, lots of summery outfits and a library of accessories Claire would be proud of. I love it! Upo

Jorja Smith steals the show
There are some locations that are just meant for festivals, and Victoria Park in London is most certainly one of them. As we walked towards the park the excitement in the air was that bit different given the absence of such events for the past two years, and you could see from the smiles and laughs just how much it meant to be back. All Points East, backed by the creators of Coachella, brought its third installment of the festival in 2021. Known now as one of the biggest, and

Day Festival Delight
I recently rediscovered the glory of day festivals in the shape of Field Day. This year’s festival had just the right amount of kick for a bank holiday Sunday, with three stages taking you on a magical ride through the spectrum of electronic music - Blessed Madonna to Bicep and beyond. Sister event to All Points East, and this time located in Victoria Park, It’s a well laid out site with plenty to see and do as well as a vast amount of green space in which to simply hangout,

Bouncy, boozy basslines
It’s here…finally…festival season is BACK! A week after Boris lifted restrictions in the UK, we have GALA festival, and what better to celebrate than a music festival?! To say I was a bit excited was an understatement. I had been envisioning my return to festival life for what felt like forever – glorious sunny skies, shorts and shades on and joyous faces beaming as everybody bounces to boozy basslines…bliss. Sadly, the weather didn’t seem to get the memo and provided us with

Wonderful normality
Following an all too familiar tale of a 2020 cancellation, 51st State Festival returned to Trent Park for its sixth year. This festival is all about good vibes and celebrating the sounds of garage, disco, soul, dub, dancehall and more. The first thing we noticed was the diversity of the crowd. It was not your typical festival full of people in their 20s and 30s, instead we met a fantastic mix of people aged anywhere from early 20s to late 60s. Such a wide spread of ages can b
