How to plan your 2018 festival season

With 2017 nearly over we can now look forward to the summer (we realise it’s December still...think positive!). Look back at the memories created, and plan to create plenty more in 2018 – but where do you start? Tickets are now available for most of the festivals in the UK, with many even sold out already, so we’d thought we’d give you a little guidance so you’re as prepared as you can be!

There are a whole lot of festivals now in the UK and it’s often difficult to differentiate between them - you may choose to go to the one’s you went to last year, you may be new to the festival scene or you may be looking for the best festival yet to be discovered. Whatever it is, you want to be making the right choices.

Last year we went all sorts of festivals from sell out spectacles to the small fledgling ones, each one providing a totally different experience. It wasn’t just the music that drew us to a festival either, in fact a lot of the time this was a secondary - so make sure you research into the festival as a whole. Take a look at what activities are on offer, maybe you’re wanting a range of quality food (rather than the cardboard burger and chips), what are the camping/glamping facilities like, can you bring alcohol and food in (makes it a whole lot cheaper) – all of these are important factors, but of course, take a look at the line-up as most festivals are centred around the music.

Something else you need to of course think about is getting your mates on board too, which from our experience can often be the hardest part of it all! our advice is to get your plans in early, create a Whatsapp or Facebook group and make it as easy for them as you can – every group needs an organiser (or just sweet talk someone else into doing it...). Often there are group discounts when you order over a certain amount of tickets together as well as payment plans – we also offer discount codes for many festivals, so keep an eye out.

You may only want to go to one festival, or you may have several in mind – often, forward planning may not be possible, and after all, spontaneity is the spice of life. So keep an open mind.
