A long-time lover of Wilderness Festival (I first went in 2013, aged just 17 - my first parent-free festival, and probably the less said about that weekend the better), it’s always exciting to see what’s in store for another year in the wild.

Wilderness has become a gateway to pure escapism - a place for  refreshing lake swims, late-night raves, hot tub philosophising, and long-table feasting, where the engergy is as high as the hemlines and anything feels possible.

The headliners this year are strong. Supergrass have been on my wishlist to see live since my teenage years, and I can’t wait to finally tick them off. Wet Leg, who exploded onto the scene in 2021 with Chaise Longue, will be fascinating to watch in a headline slot - there’s a real “watch this space” energy to them. And Basement Jaxx? Undeniably iconic. Expect confetti, classics, and a huge crowd

Beyond the music, Wilderness always delivers. The food scene is reliably next level- I’ve got my eye on the Choose Love banquet. There’s also the usual wellness smorgasbord -  runs, yoga, pilates - plus a spiritual zone if you fancy a gong bath or cosmic tune-up. With my wedding the following weekend, I’ll be doing my best to keep mind, body and soul as calm and intact as possible.

Then there’s the intellectual stuff: food stories with Jay Rayner, live podcast recordings, debates, random bursts of poetry -  all part of what makes Wilderness feel like more than just a music festival. It’s a full-spectrum adventure.

And of course, the annual Wilderness cricket match - streaking encouraged, as tradition dictates.

If the weather holds (and so far it’s looking good), this summer’s edition is set to be another banger in the field.
