This year Field Day is upping sticks and moving to Brockwell Park from its home in East London. A regular in many festival lovers’ calendars, you can always expect big things with this festival. Year after year they provide original line ups and a whole host of activities over the weekend. We’ve put together our 5 reasons why this will be one of the best days of the summer:

THE FOOD AND DRINK

An essential part of any festival experience I think you’ll agree, and Field Day have gone all in! The immense amount of high quality food stalls include: risotto balls, vegan hot wings as well asvegan pie and mash (you definitely don’t need to be vegan to enjoy these). If you’re feeling carnivorous there’s a Filipino BBQ, Crab burger shack and a stall specialising in African cuts of meat. I’ll be bringing my appetite this year.

There’s also set to be a Kraken freaky Tiki bar which is an immersive sub sea underworld serving awesome rum based cocktails with live music. Sounds amazing right?

THE ACTIVITIES

You can burn some of the caloriesfrom all the amazing food and take part in some of your favourite childhood sports day games (with some modern day twists thrown in).

There’s dress up, interactive crafts stalls, activities and loads more.

THE BARN

Aside from the main stage, The Barn is one of the biggest attractions of Field Day. This huge construction has a more than impressive lighting rig. It's basiclly immense - you'll experience not much else like it. If you were there last year you know what we mean...

THE LINEUP

Which is as diverse and beautiful as the crowd Field Day attracts.

The three acts I’m most looking forward to are: Kurupt FM throwing down some garage classics and top comedy, local south London boy Loyle Carner, one of the brightest emerging stars from the UKmaking his second appearance at Field Day and last but not least is Eryka Badu with her only UK performance this year, which is reason enough to go by itself.

THE AFTER PARTY

If after all that you haven’t had your fill of dancing for the weekend yet, just 15 minutes away is Electric Brixton which begins at 10:30am and finishes at 6am. Now that’s stamina.
