Hogsozzle is BACK this May bank holiday. Set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, this award winning boutique festival is all about creativity, colour and (of course) the wonderful hog. Starting its life as a party between friends it’s grown into what it is today, but hasn’t lost any of its charm. From its inaugural days in a back garden its fast becoming a regular in many festival lover’s calendars.
With an attendance of only 2000, the size creates a real community across the weekend – we’d describe it as a huge house party. The team at HogSozzle have deliberately kept it this size to maintain the atmosphere it creates. The set up is also wonderfully random – last year there were sofas dotted around the field, a spaceship and a helicopter so expect more of the same this year.
As well as the musical line-up made up of over 140 live acts - including The Dub Pistols, Maribou State and Scratch Perverts there’s also a whole host of other activities to keep you busy over the weekend: yoga, wellbeing activities, workshops, circus performers, theatre, ridiculous games and comedy to name but a few – they’ll also be an announcement of the theme soon too, last year was ‘cosmic disco’ so we’re expecting it to be even weirder this year.
For the hardcore, the party goes well into the night across the 4 carefully curated stages, and if that’s not your vibe you can relax under the stars in the hammocks or back at the campsite. There’s also a glamping option too if you’re feeling bougie.
For the price, this is one of the best value festivals around. It’s only 30 minutes from London, so super easy to get to and you also get FREE hog roast (or a vegetarian/vegan option). We can confirm that the hog roast is divine (and you get proper wholesome servings too).
