Last year was our first time at Camp Wildfire and we fell in love with it. Something wonderfully original, it gave us a totally different view of what a festival could be. We picked out a few aspects for you to look forward to this year (there may be a little discount on tickets at the end of this article too...):
Hovercraft racing, at a music festival?
It’s true, you can go hovercraft racing this year! Alongside this you have access to 60 activities across the weekend which are included within your ticket. Before the festival you can take a look through all that’s on offer and choose your itinerary for the weekend, be as active or lazy as you like with the activities. There’s everything from zombie runs, free falling, dodgeball and water slides all the way through to beekeeping, bread making, space science and wild game cooking.
It’s a perfect way to end your festival season
No one likes festival season to be over, and more importantly the summer…but it’s inevitable, and you may as well end it with some style. You would’ve no doubt been to many a festival over the summer, from the sold out headliner events through to the small, intimate festivals on your doorstep, but you’ll experience nothing like Camp Wildfire. It’s been described by Vice as ‘Utopia’.
Camp under the stars
The festival is set within a beautiful woodland, giving you the full experience of an adventure camp. The woodland is decorated with fairy lights providing a wonderful, fairy-tale like entrance to the festival. By night, find yourself a spot on the grass by the campfire and gaze to the stars (maybe with a few marshmallows too).
It’s not a festival without fancy dress, right?
Choose your team and battle it out over the weekend for the coveted title! Choose between the: Fearless Foxes, Stealthy Squirrels, Bantam Badgers and Howling Hawks and take part in a number of sports day type events to get the most points for your team. So make sure you choose your partner wisely for that three-legged race… and relive those forgotten school days. And if you don’t want to take part, grab yourself a drink and watch the hilarity ensue.
The experience
At Camp Wildfire you’re immersed within the adventure camp theme. There are camp leaders, hourly megaphones announcements and yearbook photos (to name but a few) alongside the wide range of activities. There’s some lovely cuisine on offer too.
