Kick-starting the festival season for a third year, following a sell-out event last summer, GALA reveals the artists joining the party on Bank Holiday Sunday 27th May. Presenting a carefully-curated mix of breaking acts alongside some of the biggest names in disco and house, GALA’s 2018 line-up salutes many of the birthplaces, innovators and visionaries of modern dance music. The artists complete the day’s programme, which includes an extensive food and drink offering, previously announced.

On the main stage, Classic Records chief and Chicago house legend Derrick Carter dons his disco hat for a very special ‘Derrick Does Disco’ set, alongside cosmic disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli and the Godfather of Ibiza’s Balearic beat, Alfredo. Representing the UK’s place in this ever-unfolding dancefloor story, Norman Jay MBE and Greg Wilson deliver a valuable lesson in UK club history, while esteemed Melodies International co-founder Mafalda, brings her unparalleled collection of modern soul, house and boogie.

Elsewhere, London’s wildest Sunday night party crew Horse Meat Disco return to host ‘The Pleasure Dome’ Stage. Heavily inspired by New York's golden era of clubbing in the 70s and 80s, the Dome will follow this theme, playing host to Glastonbury’s NYC Downlow / Block9 co-founder and Creative Director, Gideön as well as high-energy sets from one of the Big Apple’s most glamorous selectors, Honey Dijon, alongside underground house don, Midland.

With GALA landing on Peckham Rye Park for the first time, local luminaries Rhythm Section head-up their own stage.  Born in Peckham, but now an international force to be reckoned with, head honcho Bradley Zero has curated a bill that includes genre-skipping genius Mr Scruff, as well as one of dance music’s true originals and singular characters, Maurice Fulton.  Nestling alongside them will be Peckham via New Zealand duo Chaos in the CBD and Rhythm Section’s fast rising star, Z Lovecraft.  Continuing the South London thread, GALA teams up with vinyl outlets Rye Waxand YAM Records to host a record fair on site.

As this is GALA, the music line-up will be complemented by a mouth-watering selection of food outlets set to keep the party going long after sunset.  Guests will be able to fuel their dancing legs with the likes of award-winning BBQ from Slow Ritchies, Maltby Market’s infamous Cheese Truck, fried chicken courtesy of Other Side Fried, and the return of the best-selling “GALA Burger”, from South London stalwarts Honest Burger.  Meanwhile, Peckham’s Brick Brewery will be keeping everyone hydrated with their selection of top-quality beers, alongside craft heavyweights Frontier.
