FFY Soul Circus is very different, it’s a blend of fantastic music alongside a focus on wellness and re-energising the body – how did the concept for the festival develop?

EW Soul Circus was born out of the inspiring community I developed on my journey. We knew we had a great following of likeminded people that kept growing, so idea of an event of some kind grew and grew also. Having attended some yoga festivals that weren’t quite hitting the spot, we decided to combine our love for fun and music with yoga and wellness. Soul Circus became the first festival yo could downward dog by day and dance and drink into the night, like you would at a music festival. It was a refreshing take on the yoga lifestyle where we said ‘you know what, it’s okay to love yoga and still lead a life of balance and fun.

FFY If someone came to Soul Circus, what would they get from it that they wouldn’t from any other festival?

EW With this in mind, we created an event that ticked all the boxes that we strived for in our own lives. We want people to feel uplifted and inspired. The festival consists of amazing and interesting teachers and speakers, as well as amazing music. People with a story, people who are brave and fearless and can ignite a fire into the bellies of our guests. We look for people who have a story or a passion that will empower others.

FFY You’ve got everything from a huge headliner in Maxi Jazz to some of the leading experts in the industry running the wellness workshops, how do you go about curating this programme?

EW We want people to feel nourished – and from the inside out...so a menu is being created that will fuel our soul searchers and keep them moving and shaking for the entire weekend – no greasy noodles and dirty pints, more high vibration food and colourful juicy goodness (not forgetting the champagne bar for some cheeky fun of course!). The music offering is a very important element: by day, soothing acoustics, beautiful gongs and uplifting Kirtan, by night, beats and bass for some serious dancing from talented bands and DJs.

FFY What exciting new features should we look out for this year?

EW This year we have large spaces for yoga classes and more amazing teachers, alongside an extensive offering of inspirational speakers and life coaches - mindfulness and meditation workshops galore. There’s also a dedicated space for male health and wellness including a detailed focus in particular to male mental health. We have ecstatic dance and movement workshops, pole and aerial yoga. We have much more delicious food on offer this year, catering to every taste, locally sourced food and drink from the sumptuous choice the Cotswolds has to offer. We are working with Music Crowns this year to bring you the best of new music phenomenons from YouTube. We have buskers, a festival market,, amazing DJs and a secret party in the woods. To top it off, a beautiful lakeside spa to wind down and relax with a choice of massage and alternative therapies, hot tubs and saunas.
