FFY Mindfulness seems to be getting increasingly popular, what do you think the reasons are for this?

WY I think that more and more people have turned to eastern practices, specifically Buddhism to learn their ways of separating the ego from one self.

FFY When did you start getting into mindfulness?

WY I never really picked it up per say, in terms of an exact time I just started to observe myself. I then took mindfulness classes, practicing staying in the moment, the art of noticing and the art of being truly present.

FFY By practicing mindfulness everyday, has this helped you with the development of your music?

WY Yes I would say it has - it has allowed me to be truly authentic within the song when writing and also when performing to react to the music.

FFY What would you say to someone wanting to get into it, how do you begin?

WY I think it is simpler than it seems. Mindfulness is basically the practice of noticing. It is something we do every day it is just becoming aware that we actually do it every day!

FFY There are plenty of music festivals nowadays, what was it about Soul Circus that particularly made you want to be part of it?

WY I enjoy talking, sharing my thoughts and experiences. For me, the power of listening has been something I have noticed for quite a while and it seemed like the right time for me to have a conversation about it.

FFY What are you looking forward to the most at the festival?

WY Yoga!!!!
